About the program

The Gear Foundation is the non-profit behind Vara Network, an L1 built on the Gear Protocol. Its grants program gives financial aid and project support to teams that grow the Vara ecosystem, whether through new dApps, integrations, more network operators or community work.

Grants are milestone-based and you propose the milestones in your application. Most accepted grants are $10,000 to $30,000, and the Foundation says larger grants may be possible later. Alongside money, grantees get developer tools, a technical point of contact, strategic advice and help announcing their launch.

The Foundation also publishes RFPs by category and priority. Gaming gets the most attention, with open requests for mobile games, on-chain games and Telegram games and wallets, alongside DeFi, infrastructure and developer tooling. Projects outside these lists are welcome if they fit the Foundation's mission.
